My template has an issue in it and I want to dismiss it for all users because it isn’t an easy fix and it will confuse them. How do I do that?

Body

If an issue is caused by a shared template, theme, or component, many users may see the same issue repeated across multiple pages. In these cases, you may want to temporarily dismiss the issue so users are not overwhelmed by alerts they cannot easily fix themselves.

Before dismissing the issue for everyone:

  • Confirm the issue is coming from a shared template, theme, or reusable component — not from page-specific content.
  • Consider whether users can reasonably fix the issue on their own.
  • If a fix is planned but not yet available, use a temporary dismissal rather than a permanent one.

We recommend dismissing template-related issues only for a limited period of time and reviewing them regularly.

You may want to dismiss an issue temporarily when:

  • the issue requires developer or theme-level changes,
  • the fix must be implemented centrally,
  • or the issue is already tracked and scheduled for remediation.

Avoid dismissing issues permanently unless you are certain the issue is acceptable or intentionally unresolved.
