How do I access the Performance Reviews if my web browser says "Bad Request" or "Error 400?"

If you see either of these errors at https://reviews.engin.umich.edu, the reviews site doesn't think you are signed in, or is confused by the cookies sent by your browser. To work around this, you can try one of the following:

  • Try visiting the reviews site in an incognito or private browsing window.
  • Use a different browser than you normally use. E.g. if you use Chrome, try Edge or Firefox.
  • If the first two items don't work, try clearing your browser's cookies, quitting, and reopening.
  • If none of these work and you are using Chrome, try the special instructions below.

Clearing cookies from just one site in Chrome

  1. Start at https://reviews.engin.umich.edu, and click the icon at the left end of the URL bar (formerly a padlock):

  1. In the pop-up menu, choose Cookies and site data:

  1. Then choose Manage on-device site data:

  1. In the new pop-up menu, find the Reviews site in the list and click on the trash can icon next to it:

  1. Then click the Done button at the bottom:

  1. Then click Reload in the alert bar that appears, and log in again when prompted:

That should do it!  If the "Bad Request" errors persist, contact online-reviews@umich.edu for additional help.
