How do I make sure what I write on the board (whiteboard, chalkboard) is included in my Lecture Recording?

Most College of Engineering-supported classrooms are equipped with dedicated cameras that capture anything written on the whiteboard during a Lecture Recording. Instructors can disable/re-enable this setting themselves by following the applicable steps below.

To apply whiteboard settings to future recordings, follow these steps:

  1. Log into CAEN's Lecture Recording Management website (https://leccap.engin.umich.edu/leccap/manage/).
  2. Click the Manage recordings link for the course you would like to change the whiteboard settings on.
  3. Click the Site Info navigation tab.
  4. Check (or uncheck) the Enable Whiteboard checkbox.
  5. Scroll down and click Save.

To apply whiteboard settings to an existing recording, follow these steps:

  1. Log into CAEN's Lecture Recording Management website (https://leccap.engin.umich.edu/leccap/manage/).
  2. Click the Manage recordings link for the course that contains the recording.
  3. Find the recording you want to modify and click Edit.
  4. In the Options module, change Enable Whiteboard to Yes or No if you want to enable or disable it.
  5. Scroll down and click Save.
