Due to changes in the vendor license, students are now required to register with Trimble ID in order to launch SketchUp Pro in CAEN computer labs. This will also allow eligible students to download and install a free version of SketchUp Pro for use on their personal computers. To get started, students can simply register with their U-M email address at: https://id.trimble.com/ui/sign_in.html
Running SketchUp Pro on CAEN Computers
After launching SketchUp Pro on a CAEN Windows computer and clicking Sign In, a separate Trimble window will open presenting various options for logging in. Click the Continue with Google option:
In the following window, make sure to enter your U-M email address to log in with your associated U-M Google account, and click Next:
You will then be forwarded to the main U-M Weblogin page, where you can log in with your uniqname, UMICH password, and Duo two-factor authentication:
After successfully logging in , you can go back to the original SketchUp Pro window to begin modelling in the application.
Download SketchUp Pro on a Personal Computer
Visit https://www.trimble.com/, and click the icon in the upper-right corner of the page, then click the Sign In button:
Log in using the same steps described above on CAEN computers. The page will then refresh, and you can click the account icon in the upper-right to access your My Products link:
A new window will open listing the products available in your profile. Under SketchUp, click the download SketchUp link:
You will then be taken to a page where you may download SketchUp Pro, as well as access other related applications.
