Is Property Disposition open for in-person shopping?

No. Since April 2020, Property Disposition has only offered an online shopping experience through Dispo Direct. We can no longer support in-person shopping or payments. All items must be browsed and purchased online.

Can I come in to test items?

Unfortunately, no. We cannot allow anyone into our warehouse to inspect items—this applies to both personal and staff purchases. We will provide as much detail and as many photos as possible for each item to help you make informed decisions.

Are the items new/unused?

Items are typically used unless stated otherwise. Property Disposition handles the sale of surplus university property, and all items are sold AS IS. All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds are permitted.

What payment methods are accepted?

  • Credit card via Nelnet portal

  • PayPal

  • University shortcode (for departmental purchases only; must log in with UMich Login to use)

Can I get a discount?

All prices on Dispo Direct are firm.
University of Michigan departments using a shortcode will receive a 25% discount at checkout. You must be logged in with your UMich Login to see this option.

How do I know my order was received?

You will receive a confirmation email that includes your order number and details.

How soon can I pick up my order?

Please allow one business day for your order to be processed. You will then receive an email to self-schedule a curbside pick-up.

How long do I have to pick up my order?

You have five business days from the date of your Order Pickup email to retrieve your order.

What are the pick-up days and hours?

Pick-up is available by appointment during the following times:

  • Monday – Thursday: 9:00–11:00 AM & 1:00–3:30 PM

  • Friday: 9:00–10:00 AM
    (Unless otherwise posted)

How does curbside pick-up work?

  1. Arrive at Property Disposition (3241 Baxter Rd, Ann Arbor) at your scheduled time.

  2. Park in one of the five customer pick-up spots on the east side of the building.

  3. Choose one of these check-in options:

    • Option 1: Click “I have arrived” in your booking confirmation email/text.

    • Option 2: Scan the QR code at your parking spot and complete the form.

  4. A staff member will bring your items to your vehicle.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

  • If you paid via Nelnet credit card, you must present the same card at pick-up. If you cannot do this, please pay with PayPal instead.

  • Bring a vehicle large enough for your full order—no partial pick-ups are allowed.

  • Dispo Direct staff will not disassemble items—bring your own tools if needed.

  • Dispo Direct staff will not secure items into your vehicle—bring your own tie-downs/supplies.

Can someone else pick up my order?

Yes. When scheduling your appointment:

  • Enter the purchaser’s name in the ‘First name’ field.

  • Enter the pick-up person’s name in the ‘Last name’ field.

  • Reminder: The credit card used for payment must be presented at pick-up. If this is not possible, use PayPal instead.

What happens if I do not pick up my items in time?

If your items are not picked up within five business days, they will be returned to inventory, and a refund will be issued to your original payment method. Depending on the situation, your account may be temporarily or permanently suspended.
