SimpleK Production Login Instructions 

How to access SimpleK Prod client (via local client)

-

● If you are off campus, you will need to be connected to the UMICH Cisco VPN.

● There are 2 methods for accessing the test client, outlined below

Navigate to \\hsg-shared.m.storage.umich.edu\hsg-shared\DATA\SEC\L0-SEC All Housing\

Or

K:\SEC\L0-SEC All Housing\

Here you will see the “SimpleK_Prod” shortcut:

Drag the ‘SimpleK_Prod’ shortcut to your desktop. If this requires admin rights for some reason, you may have to put a ticket into 4-Help to have them provide you admin rights.

Once the shortcut has been placed on your desktop, you may launch the application by double clicking it. You only need to drag the shortcut to your desktop this once!

How to access SimpleK Prod client (via Remote Desktop)

● If you are off campus or on WiFi, you will need to be connected to the UMICH Cisco VPN.

On your laptop, hit the Windows key and begin typing ‘mstsc’, and hit Enter. This will bring up the Remote Desktop Connection client.

Once the client is open, you need to enter the name of the remote computer: sl-rd01.itcs.umich.edu, and enter your uniqname as ‘umroot\uniqname’.

Once you have entered the correct information, click ‘Connect’. Follow the onscreen prompts to gain access to sl-rd01. You may see a pop up like this:

Click ‘Yes’ if this pops up.

Click ‘OK’ at the next screen, which will then prompt you for Duo Authentication.

You will then be brought to the home screen of sl-rd01. The ‘SimpleK_Prod’ shortcut should be on the Desktop. Double click the shortcut to launch the application.
