Share PowerPoint Presentation With Notes and Only One Screen

Overview

This knowledge article covers the scenario where you have the following:

  • Laptop or Desktop
  • Single Monitor (no additional plugged in monitors)
  • Zoom Meeting
  • Presentation to Share
  • Presenter Notes

The goal is to share your screen with your presentation but not your speaker notes as well. Once set up, you should have full functionality over your presentation as normal, and the audience should only see your slides.

How-To

  1. Open up your PowerPoint Presentation
  2. On the top menu ribbon visit the Slide Show tab Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Confirm Use Presenter View is checked (in the Monitors section)
  4. Start the presentation (you can select the From Beginning button on the far left)
  5. In the lower left corner of the presentation select the Menu Button (...) then select Show Presenter ViewUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  6. You can Minimize the Presenter View, then navigate to your Zoom meeting
  7. Within Zoom, press the green Share button at the bottomUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  8. The Share Screen menu will show up. Visit the Advanced tab at the topUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  9. Then in the Advanced tab select Portion of ScreenUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  10. The Zoom meeting window should minimize, and then Zoom will create a movable/adjustable green window that will show the audience everything withinUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  11. Move the Green window over the preview shot from the Presenter View in PowerPoint. You can also re-size the window as neededUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
