Completing the practice exam or quiz provided by your instructor and ensuring Respondus Lockdown Browser and Respondus Monitor is installed and are working correctly. Troubleshooting issues is not performed during exams, instead the instructor will implement a contingency plan when students experience technical issues with Respondus during an exam. To identify and resolve any issues that were experienced during an exam, students can drop-in for support from UMSN-IT M-F 8am-5pm in SNB1 Room 4237, or schedule a consultation with UMSN-IT here: UMSN-IT Consultation outside of the exam.

Completing system updates on your computer or tablet prior to each exam (including your initial practice exam). You should update your computer or tablet at least 24 hours prior to your exam. Updates can take 30 minutes or longer to run and/or requirement multiple reboots, so this should not be done during an exam period. Additionally, it is recommended that you reboot your computer after each update, prior to each exam.

Residential (on campus) courses only: Please confirm that your computer is connected to the MWireless network or to the campus network via ethernet in the classroom prior to starting Respondus Lockdown Browser and Respondus Monitor. No other networks are being supported (mguest, mobile hotspots).
