Typhon - Preceptor Evaluation of Student Mid Term Procedure

Introduction 

This document explains how to complete the preceptor portion of the students’ mid term clinical performance evaluation.

Note: Both the student and the preceptor fill out the exact same evaluation.

Pre-requirements

  1. Preceptor received an email from Typhon initiating the evaluation of the student.
  2. Preceptor received an email from the student containing a PDF of their self-evaluation.  

 

Overview of the Process

  • The student initiates the process by filling out their self-evaluation.
  • The student exports the results as a PDF and emails the PDF to their preceptor.
  • The student invites the preceptor to fill out the evaluation by initiating a review and selecting the preceptor.
  • The preceptor receives one email from the student with a PDF of their answers and one email from Typhon containing a unique link to evaluate that student.
  • The preceptor uses the unique link to access the evaluation without logging in to Typhon.
  • The preceptor uses the student's PDF as a reference to fill out student specific information, then fills out the remainder of the evaluation.
  • The preceptor submits the evaluation.
  • The student receives an email that the evaluation is complete.
  • The student logs into Typhon, views the evaluation, downloads both the self and preceptor’s evaluation, and uploads this PDF into the Student Self-Evaluation Mid Term Assignment in Canvas.

 

Procedure

Perform Evaluation

  1. Click the invitation link in the email from Typhon. It will come from notifications@typhongroup.com. This link will take you to the Typhon evaluation. 
  2. Click the survey titled [Your Specialty] Clinical Evaluation of Student – Mid Term. 
  3. Click Begin Survey of [Student's Name]. 
  4. Choose Preceptor in Question 2. 
  5. Use the PDF document you received from your student as a reference to answer Questions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. 
  6. Fill in the rest of the evaluation following the instructions on the form. Click Submit Survey at the end of the form.
