Respondus Installers

Overview

The School of Nursing has a school wide license for Respondus's Lockdown Browser. They provide the newest versions of their software for Windows and Mac operating systems. We have several different schools at UM that join us in our Respondus license. Our job is to keep our computers up-to-date, along with providing the newest installers to the schools that subscribe to us, and when push the software through Otto.

Versions of Lockdown Browser

There are several versions of Lockdown Browser we might need to keep our sources up-to-date with:

• Student Installers - These require admin rights to install and to run. Students can find the installer from this page
  • Windows
  • Mac
• Lab Installers - These are for our UMSN machines, because admin is not needed to install and run 
  • Windows
  • MSI
  • Mac

Access the Newest Software Version

1. Visit the Respondus Lockdown Browser page
2. Select the Admin Login in the upper right
3. Log in using a password from password state
4. Select either LockDown Browser Installer or Installer for Managed Computers depending on the machine you wish to update
5. Download the appropriate file

Update our Respondus Subscribers / Schools

1. Download the newest version of the file
2. Navigate to the UM Respondus Installers Dropbox Folder
3. Drop the most updated version of the file into the correct folder

Update Otto Software Packages

1. Download the newest version of the MSI File
2. Visit the ITS-MiWorkspace Software Packaging form
3. Fill out the form, upload the msi file, and link to the file in the dropbox folder
