How to connect to a WolfVision Cynap for wireless audio and video and how to troubleshoot connection problems
Environment
Classrooms and conference rooms with WolfVision Cynap devices
Directions
To connect to a Wolfvision Cynap, the host device needs:
The Cynap display should look something like this.
In the upper bar of the display it will list the name and IP address of the Cynap.

Connect the host device to the Cynap
Apple Devices
Mac Computers:
Click the AirPlay button located in the toolbar at the top of your screen. (if AirPlay isn't in the toolbar go to System Preferences and choose Displays).
Select the room # you want to mirror to. Enter the four-digit pin number that appears on the TV screen.
iPads and iPhones:
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the Screen Mirroring (AirPlay ) button. (For iPhone X/iOS 12 and later, swipe down from the upper right corner).
Select the room # you want to mirror to. Enter the four-digit pin number that appears on the TV screen.
Windows Devices
Click the Systems Tray icon , located at the bottom right corner of your screen.
Click Expand.
Select Project or Cast.
Click Connect to a Wireless Display.
Select the room # you want to mirror to.
Enter the four-digit pin number that appears on the TV screen.
Android Devices
Swipe down from the top of your screen.
Select Smart View, Cast, or Screen Mirroring.
Select the room # you want to mirror to.
Enter the four-digit pin number that appears on the TV screen.
Troubleshooting
- The Cynap you are trying to connect to isn't listed as a choice of wireless display to connect to.
- Make sure you are connected to MWireless
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on
- If Bluetooth is already on try turning it off and on again
- Put the host device to sleep and wake it again
- Restart host device
- Restart Cynap
- When trying to connect after putting in the four digit PIN an error message comes up saying "could not connect to device"
- Restart host device
- Restart Cynap
- When trying to connect after putting in the four digit PIN the host device connects but nothing is displayed on the Cynap Screen.
- Check that the device was logged into MWireless with a uniqname account.
- If logged into MWireless with a uniqname account the IP address will start with 35.
- If signed in with a non-uniqname account the IP will start with 67, and will not be able to connect with the Cynap until the host device is signed in with a uniqname account.
To find the MWireless IP address do the following:
If connecting with a newer Mac laptop or iPhone, check with Instructional Computing staff to ensure that AirPlay 4K mode is disabled on the Cynap.
- Restart the host device
- Restart the Cynap
