Summary
This article outlines the procedure for restoring the previous version of a file. This may be of use when a file is accidentally deleted, or a file was saved over a version that was needed. The location of the file within a Home or Shared drive is needed.

Directions
- Open the File Explorer (folder icon at the bottom of your screen).
- Navigate to the folder that contains the file you would like to restore.
- Right-click on the name of the folder.
- Click on Properties in the menu that appears.
- In the window that opens, click on the Previous Versions tab.
- A list of folders will appear with a date and time at some point in the past. Open the folder that is closest to the time you last worked on the file you need, then open the file.
- Open the file and save as a new copy to a present folder. Or, copy the file, minimize/ close the previous versions window, and paste the file to a location in your File Explorer.
