How to deactivate a device and its corresponding backup from the CrashPlan Web Console.

Environment

Directions

  1. Go to the CrashPlan website
  2. Login with your uniqname and password.
  3. Hover over "Administration" near the top left of the screen.
  4. Then click "Devices" from the drop-down.
  5. Click the device name for the computer you want to remove.
  6. Click the action menu (gear icon) on the top right. 
  7. Click Deactivate.
  8. When prompted, select "I understand this device's archive will be deleted".
  9. When you deactivate a device, the backup for that device will be removed, so you want to be sure you no longer need that backed-up data before you proceed. If you are sure, you can click on the check box and click on OK. If you are unsure, you can contact LSA Technology Services for assistance.
  10. Click "OK" to permanently remove this computer from your CrashPlan account.
  11. You may repeat these steps for other devices you wish to deactivate.
