Mounting Turbo Volumes on a Mac and/or Windows machine

To mount the Turbo volume on a Mac:

1) Click on Go at the top of your desktop
2) In the menu that pops up, click on Connect to Server
3) A new window will open. At the top of the window is a field to fill with the address of the Turbo volume. Please enter the following:

smb://uniqname@lsa-<volume name>-win.turbo.storage.umich.edu/lsa-<volume name>

4) Once that address has been entered into the empty field, click on Connect at the bottom of the window
5) The window will disappear, and a small one will indicate mounting progress
6) When access is ready, a new small window will pop up asking if a connection to the volume is desired. Click on Connect.
7) A new Finder window should then open and show the contents of the Turbo volume.

To mount the Turbo volume on Windows:

1) Open a new File Explorer window
2) Right-click on either This PC or Network
3) From the menu that pops up, choose Map Network Drive
4) A new window will open. Enter the following in the Folder field:

\\lsa-<volume name>-win.turbo.storage.umich.edu\lsa-<volume name>

5) Click the box for Connect using Different Credentials
6) Click Finish, and a new window will appear requesting the uniqname and password to be entered. If DOMAIN=UMROOT does not show in the window, prefix the uniqname with UMROOT\
7) Click OK, and a new window will open showing the contents of the Turbo volume.

Please note: To access the volume, UMich VPN must be connected.
