Instructional Computing Cynap Replacement

The process of moving a previously installed cynap into a different room.

Configure a replacement cynap.

Environment

Instructional Computing classroom, conference rooms, or labs

Procedure

  1. Open WolfVision Cynap ISS:

    1. Search for the Cynap being replaced. 

    2. Copy and paste the room location, device name, IP address into the new room location

    3. Strike through the swapped out Cynap row. 

  2. Open a new browser window and go to vSolution.

  3. Log in.

  4. Search for the previous Cynap that is being replaced. Once you find it, click on it and rename it.

  5. Login to Bluecat Address Manager.

  6. Search for the previous IP Address "

    1. Search for the new IP by using 10.XXX.XXX.0. 

      1. You can locate the common 10. IP address configuration for the Cynap in the Wolfvision document.

    2. Move the IP address to the new 10. 

      1. Click the arrow next to the name and select move, insert the new IP address and update. 

      2. Make sure that the IP address is DHCP reserved. 

    3. Log out. 

  7. In vSolution, click on Web Interface:

    1. On the web interface, click the gear to switch the login to Admin. 

      1. Login using the password from the Google doc. 

      2. Click on the screen, and click on the 3 dots.

      3. Click the gear and it will open the settings

  8. Click on Login in the Settings Panel:

    1. Under Moderator 

    2. Click on the password line, press the eye to reveal the Password

    3. Delete the building name and number 

    4. Add the new building name and number; click Save

  9. Log out.

Additional notes

Please update all the appropriate fields in the WolfVision Cynap ISS Google Sheets workbook. Also add the new devices to the vSolution Link software for remote management.
