Change Windows Active Hours for Windows Update

Objective

To change the local Windows workstation Active Hours from the default 8am-5pm to account prevent update reboots during work hours

Environment

Windows 10

Procedure

Installing Available Software

1. Click the Start Menu
2. Begin typing to search for "Software Center" and open Software Center.
3. In Software Center, click Options.
4. Under Work Information, choose the hours and days per week for your Business Hours.
5. Click Apply at the bottom.

Additional notes

• Business Hours must be the same hours for each day of the week you select.
• In order for these settings to be effective, your computer must be online outside of business hours to run these updates.
• You must leave at least a four-hour block of time between business hour windows in order to provide enough time for the computer to finish applying updates and not impact your business hours.
