Troubleshooting the Software Center application on Windows

Summary

When trying to install software via the Software Center application on university Windows laptops, and the software center fails to load any software options to install.

Environment

U-M Windows computers

Directions

  1. Make sure the Software Center application is closed.
  2. Make sure you are on a U-M network.
  3. Open a command prompt on the clients computer as an admin.
  4. Navigate to the repair file. Type the following into the command prompt and press enter: C:\Windows\CCM\ccmrepair.exe
  5. The repair can take up to 30 minutes, once it is done re-open Software Center and you should be able to see the list of available applications.
