Setting up the SmartVue Client

Objective

Download, install, and configure the Thermo Fisher SmartVue Client to connect to the eeb-smartvue.adsroot.itcs.umich.edu server.

Environment

SmartVue installation is only available for Windows Operating Systems. This Client will only work with SmartVue brand sensors connected through a SmartVue Server.

  2. Unzip that archive.
  3. Run the "start.exe" with administrator access.
  4. Dismiss the entry "caution" by clicking continue.
  5. Once installed, launch "Smart-Vue client" from the start menu.
  6. on the login screen, click the ">>" button and enter EEB-SMARTVUE.adsroot.itcs.umich.edu as the server. Leave the port number as 11000.
  7. At this point, log in using the credentials for your lab. (If you believe you should have access but do not, please contact LSA TS.)

Additional notes

  • Use and configuration of the client may require connecting to the Umich VPN when working from off campus or on some limited access networks.
  • Customize alerts through user profile settings.
    • From the toolbar of the Smart-Vue client, go to the settings tab (alternatively Alt+s) and click the icon featuring two distinctly colored human figures.
    • Hover over the button, and you will see that this is the "User and call group management" menu.
    • Once in the user list, just click the "view my profile" button in the upper left to access contact details for your profile.
