What tools are there for organizing and publishing my writing?

  • Scrivener is available for Mac and windows and is licensed for university owned resources. It can be installed in various labs with university owned machines. See Scrivener for Book Writing for a brief overview.
  • Scalar is a free, open source publishing platform that’s designed to make it easy for authors to write long-form, born-digital scholarship online. See Getting Started Scalar.
  • Twine is also free. Twine publishes directly to HTML, so you can post your work nearly anywhere. Anything you create with it is completely free to use any way you like, including for commercial purposes.

Where can I go for additional assistance?
