Issue

Can I change the MCommunity group associated with my U-M Dropbox Team Folder? If so, how?

Resolution

Yes, you can change the MCommunity group associated with your Dropbox Team Folder using the ITS Team Folder Manager tool.

  1. Find your Team Folder from the list and click Edit beside it.
  2. Select the new group from the drop-down under "Select the MCommunity group that should control who has access to the Dropbox Team Folder."
  3. Confirm your change in the confirmation drop-down, and click Edit Team Folder.

Notes:

  • You must be an eligible owner (i.e., faculty or regular staff) of both the Team Folder's current associated MCommunity group and the new group.
  • There must be at least two eligible owners in the new group when it is updated.
  • MCommunity groups larger than 1,000 members will not sync to U-M Dropbox. Therefore, you cannot choose a group with more than 1,000 members as the owner of the Team Folder.
