Media Gallery is each Canvas course’s central library for video, audio, and images. Students, teachers, and other people in the course can search and view all the media within the Media Gallery. See related Media Gallery articles for more information about using this tool in Canvas.

How to Remove Media From a Course Media Gallery

Resolution

Media unpublished from a Media Gallery is not deleted and will remain in My Media.

Only teachers, TAs and instructional designers can unpublish media from a course Media Gallery.

Navigate to the course > Media Gallery > Media tab.
Mouse over the media item thumbnail and click the triple dots.
Click the Remove from channel "x" icon on the thumbnail.
Click Remove to confirm.

There is no way to bulk unpublish media from a Media Gallery. If you need all/most media removed from a Media Gallery contact the ITS Service Center.
