How do I use live captions/transcription in a Microsoft Teams meeting?
Resolution
Refer to Use live captions in Microsoft Teams meetings for detailed instructions. Information includes using live captions during a meeting and customizing their appearance.
Important:
- Teams doesn't save captions. If you'd like a transcript of the meeting, turn on live transcription. You'll be able to download the transcript after the meeting.
- This means that meeting recordings also do not include captions.
- Live transcription is a separate feature from live captions.
- The ITS-managed instance of Microsoft Teams doesn't include live translated captions or transcription. If live translated captions are desired, reach out to the ITS Service Center for more details regarding this ability in U-M Zoom.
