Okta: Persistent Badge Notification on Okta Verify App

Environment

Okta Verify, iOS

Issue

A persistent badge notification shows up on the Okta Verify app for iOS and cannot be removed. 

Note: badge notifications refer to the red circle at the upper right hand corner of the app icon, displaying how many notifications you have for the app. 

Resolution

Turn off badge notifications for Okta Verify: 

1. Open iPhone Settings.
2. Click Apps.
3. Scroll down to the O section and click Okta Verify.
4. Click Notifications.
5. Under Alerts, toggle Badges off.

Note: turning off badges will not change the way that other notifications in Okta work. If you choose to receive push notifications to your lock screen, this will still work. 

Additional Information

Do not uninstall and re-install the app to clear this notification. Okta will not restore your UMICH account when the app is re-installed.
