Issue
When I search for channels using the Slack Directory, I receive multiple results stating "For some reason, Slack wasn't able to fetch info about this channel." Why do these results appear?
Resolution
If you receive the error "For some reason, Slack wasn't able to fetch info about this channel" while searching for channels using the Slack Directory, it is likely because of one of the following reasons:
- You do not have access to the channel Slack is trying to display (i.e., private channel)
- The channel has been archived, and you don't have access to that channel's archive
- The channel has been deleted
This is a known issue in Slack. These results should not appear when searching for channels available to you. Slack has been made aware of the issue, but there is no estimate on when, or if, it will be resolved.
