Dropbox: All U-M Members Appear Shared on "All Files" View/Homepage

Summary

This article provides information regarding why all members of U-M Dropbox appear shared on an individual's "All Files" view/homepage.

Body

Environment

U-M Dropbox

Issue

I noticed that when I'm in the "All Files" view/homepage of my account, it seems that all members of U-M Dropbox have access to my files. Do they actually have access?

Resolution

When accessing the "All Files" view of your Dropbox account, multiple profile pictures appear to the top right of your list of folders. These profile pictures, when clicked, take you to a page showing everyone with a U-M Dropbox account.

Although this may appear as if all of your files/folders are shared with everyone in U-M Dropbox, that is NOT the case. Your files/folders are still only shared with the individuals you specified and not the entire domain.
