Google Sites
Issue
The custom URL in your Google Site does not show in the address bar.
Resolution
To ensure your custom URL appears in the address bar when users visit your Google Site, verify that the site is shared publicly. If the site is only shared with specific people or within your organization, visitors will see the original sites.google.com/example.com/yoursitename
URL instead of the custom URL.
Check and modify your site's sharing settings
- On a computer, open a site in new Google Sites http://sites.google.com/newopen_in_new.
- At the top, click Share.
- Next to "Published site," from the drop-down list, select Restricted or Public.
- If you use Sites for work or school, you may find other options.
- Click Save or Done.
If you selected "Restricted," you can share your site with specific people and add groups.
- Enter the name or email address of the person you want to add.
- Click the dropdown Published Viewer Send.
