Issue

How do I change the web address/URL for my Google Site?

Resolution

Note: This method of changing the URL for your Google Site only allows you to change the text after "https://sites.google.com/umich.edu/." This means that if you plan to name your U-M Google Site's URL "test-website," the full URL would be https://sites.google.com/umich.edu/test-website.

  1. Go to U-M Google Sites and open the Site you want to change.
  2. Depending on whether your Site is already published or not:
    1. If it is not published, click Publish in the top right corner and enter the desired web address in the applicable field. Click Publish when finished.
    2. If it is already published, click the drop-down menu arrow next to the Publish button and select Publish settings.... Enter the desired web address in the applicable field and click Save when finished.
