Issue

Can I use @everyone, @channel, or @here in Slack channels?

Resolution

Slack has three channel mention (@) notification types: @everyone, @channel, and @here. They are generally available in every Slack workspace unless restricted by a Workspace Admin or Channel Manager.

Refer to the Slack Help Center to learn more about using these channel mention notification types in your workspace.

Note: @everyone is only available in #general channels (i.e., the default channel in every workspace). Additionally, guests cannot use these channel mentions in a #general channel, but all users (including guests) can use @channel and @here in other channels unless otherwise restricted via the channel posting permissions by a Workspace Admin or Channel Manager.

If you are a Workspace Admin and would like to restrict whether these channel mentions can be used in your workspace channels, refer to the Slack Help Center for instructions on managing who can notify in a channel.
