Duo Mobile on Android and iOS devices

Issue

Need to update Duo Mobile to use verified push  or are unsure of the required version or how to check their current app version.

Resolution

Check Duo Version

To update Duo Mobile and ensure compatibility with Duo verified push follow these steps:

1. Check current Duo Mobile app version:
   1. Open the Duo Mobile app.
   2. Tap the menu icon in the upper-left corner.
   3. Find the version number displayed at the bottom of the menu pane.
2. If the version is older than the required version, update the app:
   • For Duo verified push:
     • Android Duo Mobile version 4.16.0 or later.
     • iOS Duo Mobile version 4.17.0 or later.
3. Visit the App Store if it is an iOS device, or the Google Play Store if it is an Android device to download the latest version of Duo Mobile.

Updating Android Devices

1. Open the Google Play Store on your mobile device.
2. Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.
3. Tap Manage apps & device.
4. Tap See details.
5. Tap Update next to the Duo Mobile app.

Updating iOS Devices

1. Open the App Store.
2. Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.
3. Scroll down to see pending updates or recently updated apps.
4. If there is an available update for the Duo Mobile app, tap Update next to the app.
5. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password or Face ID/Touch ID.

Additional Information

• Existing installations of Duo Mobile on devices running Android 8 or later, and iOS 13 or later, may be compatible with Duo Verified Push. To confirm compatibility, please check the version number of Duo Mobile on your device following the instructions provided above. If you don't already have the correct version of Duo Mobile installed, your device will need to be running Android 11 or later, or iOS 15 or later in order to update.
  • If you are not able to update to the latest version, you should use other methods of Duo.
     
• You should work with the support company for your phone's OS if you are unable to access the store to make the update.
