Issue
Customers need to know the various methods available for making payments and the details required when sending a check to ensure proper credit to their son or daughter's account.
Resolution
Payments can be made using the following methods:
- Electronic check through Wolverine Access.
- In person at Student Financial Services/Teller Services, located at 2226 Student Activities Building.
- By mail to the address below:

When sending a check, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Make checks payable to the University of Michigan.
- Include your son or daughter's full name.
- Include the 8-digit UMID number.
- Account for mailing time to ensure the payment is received by the due date.
Additional Information
Students have two options: they can pay the entire bill before the designated due date for that term, or in monthly installments through the U-M Payment Plan. Students and families interested in the U-M Payment Plan should contact Student Financial Services by phone at (734) 764-7447 or toll-free at 1-877-840-4738.
