Why do dummy objects exist, such as Zero Measure 1?
Resolution
Dummy objects are created in BO Universes because there are instances where placeholder objects are needed. For example, when creating a combined query from two different tables, the exact number and order of columns & data types are needed and in some cases, a column may not be available in a second table to do so.
