Opera Browser, Mac or Windows
Issue
Clearing potentially corrupted cache, cookies, or other temporary internet files from the Opera browser
Resolution
- On your computer, open Opera.
- Note: If you already have multiple Opera windows or tabs open, close all but one.
- At the top left, click on the Opera icon.
- Click History then Clear browsing data.
- At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
- Check the boxes next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files".
- "Browsing history" is optional.
- Click Clear data.
- NOTE: It can take a few minutes to clear the cache depending on how long it has been accumulating.
- Quit Opera.
- Restart your computer.
Keyboard Shortcut
- Press Ctrl + H to quickly access the "History" window.
- Click on Clear Browsing Data at the top right of this window to open the "Clear browsing data" page.
- Clear at least "Cookies and other site data" as well as "Cached images and files".
- Select All Time from the time range dropdown menu.
- Click Clear Data.
Clear Cookies from A Single Site
To clear the cookies for just one site without clearing out everything else at the same time in Chrome:
- Click the lock to the left of the URL (web address).
- Click "Cookies and site data".
- Click "Manage on-device site data".
- Click the trash can icon next to each site listed.
- You can keep clicking the trash can icon until all cookies are gone.
- Click Done.
Additional Information
Depending on the settings you choose to clear after you clear cache and cookies:
- Some settings on sites will be deleted.
- For example, if you were signed in, you’ll need to sign in again, so make sure you know your login information.
- Sites can load slowly because content needs to load again.
- You can lose your browsing history.
