Issue

How do I update the Dropbox app on my computer or mobile device to a new version?

Resolution

MiWorkspace-managed device

• Open the Software Center (Windows) or Managed Software Center (Mac) and follow the steps to update the Dropbox application described in the linked documentation.

HITS-managed device (CoreImage)

• Windows users: Your device will be updated for you by HITS. No further action is needed.
• Mac users: Your Dropbox desktop app will update automatically to the latest version.
• Refer to HITS ServiceNow knowledge base for more information. Contact HITS with any questions.

Personal computer or a mobile device (iOS or Android)

• Refer to the Dropbox Help Center for instructions.
• On personal computers, the Dropbox desktop app updates automatically.

Device managed by another department/unit (other than MiWorkspace or HITS)

• Your Dropbox desktop app should update automatically to the latest version. If it is not updating, contact the department/unit that manages your device.

Additional Information

Users who connect to Dropbox only through a web browser do not need to update Dropbox, as web apps are always up to date.
