UMICH Login
Issue
A person applying for admission to the University of Michigan who does not have a U-M uniqname and UMICH password may need access to Wolverine Access in order to:
- View their application status, if not using Enrollment Connect.
- Complete an application for in-state tuition.
- Check financial aid after being admitted but before committing to attend U-M.
If you used Enrollment Connect during the application process, you still need to create a Friend account for Wolverine Access if you do not have a U-M uniqname and UMICH password. It is a separate service with different login credentials.
Once you accept an offer of admission to U-M, you will be invited to set up your uniqname as a full member of the university community. You will no longer need or use your Friend account.
Resolution
Create Your Friend Account
A non-university email address (does not end with umich.edu) is required to set up a Friend account. An email is sent to that address as part of the account creating process in order to verify you own the address. To create a Friend account, see the Create a new Friend Account article.
Verify Your Friend Account
You need to verify your Friend account and connect it to your student record in order to view information in Wolverine Access.
- Go to Wolverine Access.
- Click the New and Prospective Student Business tile.
- If you do not see the tile, search for it using the search bar at the top of the page.
- Log in with your Friend ID (the email address used to create your Friend account) and password.
- Verify your personal information, including your UMID and birth date .
- Your eight-digit UMID was emailed to you. It is also available in Enrollment Connect, if you used that portal during the application process.
- Log out, then back into Wolverine Access.
- Click the New and Prospective Student Business tile to access the information in Wolverine Access.
If You Forget Your Friend Password
If you forget your Friend password, you can reset it at Reset Friend Password.
