MiVideo
Issue
A page containing MiVideo embed code displays the course homepage instead of the video player.
Resolution
Canvas is unable to process the <iframe> tag in the embed code. Likely this is due to old original MiVideo embed code from 2015. This can occur when course content is copied again and again from previous semesters.
How to locate old embed code
The course link validator will catch old embed code.
- Select Settings from the course left navigation.
- Select Validate Links in Content from the right navigation.
- Run the validator.
- Select a page with a link containing url=https://1038472-1.kaf.kaltura.com and use one of the two methods below to fix the link.
Fix #1: Re-embed the media (Recommended)
You must be the media owner or co-publisher.
- Edit the page and delete the embed code.
- Re-embed the media by selecting the MiVideo icon in the second row of toolbar buttons in the text editor. If you do not see the MiVideo icon, click the triple dots icon.
- Save.
Fix #2: Edit the URL in the embed code
You do not need to be the media owner or co-publisher.
