Issue
Can I connect my U-M Google account to my Google Assistant or Google Home devices?
Resolution
Google Assistant and Google Home are additional services that connect to personal-use devices (e.g., Nest Mini, Hub and Audio, Nest thermostats, cameras, and doorbells, Chromecast, Google Pixel phone/tablet, etc.), while U-M Google is a service exclusively for university business. Therefore, Google Assistant and Google Home are not supported for use with U-M Google accounts.
If you wish to connect these devices to an account, Google recommends connecting them to a personal (non-UM) Google account. This not only ensures full feature availability for your devices but also keeps your personal data separate from your university data.
