Enable Cookies in Chrome for Duo Remember Me

Environment

 Duo, Google Chrome browser

Issue

The "Remember me for 7 days" box is not able to be checked on the Duo Two Factor Authentication prompt. A message appears saying that cookies must be enabled in order to use the option.

Resolution

'Remember me...' can't be checked

This is caused by the third-party cookies settings in the browser.

  1. In a Chrome browser, open the Chrome menu/toolbar using the 3 vertical dots in the upper-right
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select the Privacy and security tab
  4. Choose Third-party cookies
  5. In the Customized behaviors section, Add duosecurity.com
    1. If duosecurity.com does not work, remove it and replace it with api-d9c5afcf.duosecurity.com

'Remember me...' not working across sessions

If "Remember me for 7 days"  doesn't remember you in Chrome after checking the box, try the following:

  6. Under Default behavior, select Allow sites to save data on your device
  7. To make sure the cookie data isn't deleted, in the Allowed to save data on your device section, Add duosecurity.com
    1. If duosecurity.com does not work, remove it and replace it with api-d9c5afcf.duosecurity.com
