Joining a Zoom Meeting Using Existing Conference Room Hardware

ITS Service Center, U-M Zoom

Customers wish to join a Zoom meeting from their existing conference room system.

  • It is currently possible to join a Zoom meeting from SIP capable video conferencing hardware, though licensing is limited and users will not have the full user experience
  • A license is required to connect conference room equipment with a Zoom meeting
  • ITS is paying for 50 concurrent use Zoom Conference Room Connector Licenses through FY22 and providing them on a first come, first serve basis
  • Usage data in FY22 will be evaluated as people return to being on site. Units may be expected to pay for their own license after FY22 or if there is high usage
  • No license is required when you use a computer with the Zoom client and connect it to a room system
