Cisco IP Communicator or Cisco Jabber softphones on Ann Arbor campus
Issue
Audio issues with U-M-provided Cisco softphones
Resolution
Our best recommendation is for U-M softphone users to use UMVPN - All Traffic or UMVPN - Only U-M Traffic unless you have been given special access to one of these alternate profiles that are confirmed working with Jabber:
- Temp-VoIP profile
- UMHS SSL VPN
- Special Developer
- UMSOD (Dentistry) *pending setup
How to sign into a different VPN profile:
- Sign out of the soft phone client (Jabber or IP Communicator) completely
- Disconnect from the VPN
- Sign back into the UMVPN - All Traffic (*** Do not use any other VPN in the drop down)
- Relaunch the soft phone client (Jabber or IP Communicator)
- Call center users only: Relaunch Cisco Finesse
