How to use ResponsiBLUE, the university's web/mobile screening app for COVID-19. 


Install ResponsiBLUE on a Mobile Device or Use the Web Interface

NOTE: Click each link above to find current versions of the available software app.

Authenticate and Enter Screening Data with ResponsiBLUE 

It is recommended that campus community members who enter campus buildings and facilities use ResponsiBLUE daily to check themselves for COVID-19 symptoms by answering a brief set of questions. Screening checks are recommended even if you are vaccinated and/or have completed COVID testing.

  1. Sign in to the ResponsiBLUE mobile app on your device or
    1. UMICH affiliates:
      1. Click the Sign in With Google button and use your UMICH (Level-1) uniqname and password (for Michigan Medicine affiliates, use your, not and accept any Duo prompts that appear 
      2. Click the Screening Check button (under the red X or the green checkmark) to answer the questions
        • It may read Required or Passed and you can click or tap on either option to start the process
    2. Non-UMICH affiliates (guests, contractors, vendors, etc.)
      1. Click the Guest Screening button 
  2. Answer the screening questions
  3. Receive outcome screen that is good for 18 hours
    1. If you use the web version of ResponsiBLUE, take a photo or screenshot of the outcome screen to show as you enter campus buildings later in the day

Additional Information

  • Students, faculty, and staff will also see a button for vaccination status 
  • You may see an additional COVID-19 Testing section if you are required to do weekly testing 
  • Older versions of the iOS app may go immediately to the Screening Check
  • Android users may be asked for their pin before signing in, this is their pin to unlock their phone
