Issue

Instructions to self-register a device on Ethernet in Residence Halls or Northwood    

Resolution

Self Register:

  1.  Find the MAC address (sometimes called hardware or WLAN address) of your device.
    1. Instructions on how to find this: Find the MAC Address on My Computer.
    2. There are also instructions at the bottom of the http://netreg.it.umich.edu to find the MAC address on various devices. 
  2. In a browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) on a computer or other device that is connected to the network navigate to http://netreg.it.umich.edu.
  3. On that page accept the conditions of use, then log into the U-M Network Registration login.
    1. Remember that you log in with your uniqname (all lowercase, no @umich.edu) and U-M (Level-1) password.
  4. After logging in, you may be prompted to register the current device or another device.
  5. Use the Register a New Device section to register your device.

Please note that after registering your device, it can take up to 10 minutes before your device connects.
