Environment
Fully online U-M degree programs, Hybrid U-M degree programs, University of Michigan diplomas and transcripts
Issue
You want to understand what an online U-M degree is, whether online graduates receive the same diploma as on-campus graduates, or whether a particular degree is available online.
Resolution
Fully online and hybrid degree programs are accredited opportunities to earn a University of Michigan degree. You must apply to and be admitted by the program, and you pay tuition as an enrolled university student.
Diplomas and transcripts
Graduates of online degree programs receive diplomas and transcripts that are identical to those earned by graduates of other fully accredited University of Michigan programs. The documents do not identify the degree as residential or online.
Availability of online degrees
Not every U-M degree has an online version. Some degree programs are offered online, some are residential, and a small number offer both options.
