Use an Existing Coursera Account with U-M Free Access

Issue

You already have a Coursera account that is not associated with your @umich.edu email address, or you need help using that account with U-M free access.

Resolution

  1. Log in to your existing account at coursera.org.

  2. Open Settings from your profile.

  3. Update your primary email address to your @umich.edu email address.

  4. Confirm that the @umich.edu address is listed as your primary email.

  5. Return to Michigan Online and begin enrollment through the U-M Free Access option on the course or series page.

Coursera payments are subject to Coursera's current refund policies. Review the Coursera refund policy and, if still needed, contact Coursera for assistance.

Additional Information

Your @umich.edu address must be the primary email on the Coursera account so Coursera can validate your U-M access.
