Summary

You can use a university issued iPhone as a personal Hotspot to bring wifi to areas on the playground or forest classrooms that do not get the wifi signal from the building.

HSCC will use the Camp Go Blue phone for this purpose as a test during the 2026-2027 school year.

When is this process used?

University issued iPhone Hotspots should be used when wifi is needed for your work, for example to take attendance in EZChildTrack, and you are out of range of our building's wifi.

Instructions or Steps

Here are the steps to turn on the Personal Hotspot on an iPhone:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap Personal Hotspot
    • If you don’t see it, go to Settings → Cellular → Personal Hotspot
  3. Turn on Allow Others to Join
  4. Check the Wi-Fi Password shown on that screen
  5. On the device you want to connect, open its Wi-Fi settings
  6. Select your iPhone’s name
  7. Enter the hotspot password

Notes

Beginning fall 2026 this process will be tested in the HSCC Hawks classroom using the Camp Go Blue iPhone.
