The University of Michigan-Flint offers the Dependent Tuition Scholarship (DTS) for qualified dependents of employees (staff and faculty) from all four campuses; Flint, Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and the UM Medical Center in the pursuit of their first bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan-Flint. The program provides the following:

The University of Michigan-Flint offers the Dependent Tuition Scholarship (DTS) for qualified dependents of employees (staff and faculty) from all four campuses; Flint, Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and the UM Medical Center in the pursuit of their first bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan-Flint. The program provides the following:
- 50% tuition assistance for first bachelor degrees to eligible dependent children, spouses, and other qualified adults of UM-Flint faculty and staff (spouse/OQA scholarships are limited to 15 participants per academic year).
- 20% tuition assistance for the first bachelor's degree to eligible dependent children of University of Michigan faculty and staff employed at UM-Dearborn, Ann Arbor, or Michigan Medicine.
Current Deadlines: Summer 2026 through Winter 2027 Semesters
Summer 2026 – Application deadline is 5:00 pm on Friday, May 15, 2026
Fall 2026 – Application deadline is 5:00 pm on Friday, September 4, 2026
Winter 2027 – Application deadline is 5:00 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2027
