Settings - Question Options

Summary

Settings can be used to tweak student studying experiences, enable or disable certain features, and control the publishing of your course. These are organized into the categories of General, Publishing, Question, Feedback, and Student Dashboard Options

  1. Go to your course’s Admin Console from the dropdown menu in the top right

  2. Go to the Settings tab

Question Options

  • Allow students to retry questions they get wrong (Study Mode only):

    • By default, this option is unchecked

    • If checked, students will see a “Try Again” button after they get a question wrong

  • Randomize the order of question answers:

    • By default, this option is checked

    • If unchecked, answer options always show up in a specific order

  • Display explanation of the correct answer:

    • By default, this option is checked

    • This setting is for adding additional information about the answer options

  • Display correct answer after two failed attempts:

    • By default, this option is unchecked

    • If checked, students are shown a “Show Correct Answer” button after they’ve gotten a question incorrect twice

  • Display answer histogram after students answer a question:

    • By default, this option is checked

    • This setting is for showing students a histogram of how many students chose each answer

      • Those who got the question correct see it automatically, those who got the question incorrect can click a button to see it

  • Show question titles to students:

    • By default, this option is unchecked

    • Instructors can always see question titles and numbers while students only see the number - if you want them to see the title as well, check this

  • Enable adaptive difficulty within a study session (Study Mode Only):

    • By default, this option is unchecked

    • If checked, Problem Roulette will show a more or less difficult question based on whether a student answered the previous question correctly
