How to Preview as a Student?

As an instructor, you can preview what GradeCraft looks like for any student enrolled in your course.  This is helpful if there are locks/unlocks, badges, or other conditions that may be student specific.

Previewing as a student will display grades earned in the Grade Predictor.  It will not show the predictions a student made about assignments.

To preview a course as a student

  1. Click "Students" under "Users" from the left-hand menu. Expand the "Users" folder if needed
  2. The Student Roster will display each student's name, grade and activity information.  You may find the student to preview by scrolling vertically or using the search bar in the top right corner. Note: no active student added to the course yet? No problem! Follow the same steps but use the "DEMO student" to see the student view.
  3.  On the right hand side, there will be a gear logo under the "Options" column. You may need to side scroll all the way to the right to see the button.
  4. Click the gear logo, there will be a drop-down
  5. Click "Preview as this student."
  6. You will be able to preview the course as that student sees it.  Click "Exit Student Preview" in the header bar to return to the Instructor interface.

If you are working in a trial account or do not have any students in your course to preview, you may also contact us at help@gradecraft.com.  If you can provide us with an alternative or secondary email address, we can help get a student into your course.
