How does Tandem work with Canvas?

Tandem supports integration with Canvas. Instructors can create new courses in Tandem using Canvas or connect existing Canvas courses to Tandem. Additionally, class rosters and Canvas sections can be synced with Tandem.

 

Connecting an existing Tandem course to Canvas

  1. Choose the Tandem course you want to connect to Canvas

  2. Click Next

  3. Note: If your course has sections, you will need to choose which sections you want to manage in Tandem

  4. Click Next

  5. Now you are on your Instructor Overview. This page goes over what data you should expect to see on the Overview and how to interpret it.

Syncing your Class Roster with Tandem

Canvas should automatically update your Tandem Roster.

If your roster is not updating for some reason, you can manually sync it.

  1. Choose LTI Management from the Tandem Menu in the upper left corner

  2. Click “Sync Class Roster” at the top of the page.

  3. The sync may take several minutes.

Syncing Canvas sections with Tandem

  1. Choose LTI Management from the menu in the upper left.
  2. Open the drop-down and check that Connection Status says Available - Not Connected. If click the arrow.

  3. Next, you’ll need to give Tandem access to your Canvas account.

  4. From now on when you sync your roster Canvas sections and section enrollment will also sync.
