How to check your ECoach activity

Think you should have earned credit for something?

The first place to check is your Coach Activity History.

  • Choose the course coach you want to check

  • Click your uniqname in the upper right of your screen

  • Select “Coach Activity History” from the drop down menu.

You’ll see the status of each coach assignment for your selected course.

  • Green check: Received credit

  • Red X: Did not receive credit

  • Clock: Still open for credit, not completed

Tips to earn credit:

  1. Assignments must be COMPLETE by the due date and time. You will only receive credit if you complete the assignment before the time it's due (not if you started before the time it's due).

  2. Make sure you get all the way to the end. ECoach will take you back to your dashboard when your assignment is complete.

**Please see your course syllabus for information on how much credit is assigned to each item in ECoach. As long as you completed the assignment before the due date, we’ll tell your instructors you earned credit.

**If you are enrolled in multiple coaches, you will need to check your activity in each coach separately.

A note about academic (dis)honesty

The gist: We can tell when students are lying about completing ECoach assignments. Lying about ECoach completions is against the Honor Code.

The details:

Every semester we get student emails stating that ECoach didn’t give them credit for an assignment that they claim they completed on time. Those emails almost never result in credit being granted. ECoach’s tracking system allows us to see when students log in and what they click on during that time.

A handful of the emails we receive are honest mistakes (see “Tips to make sure you earn credit” above to avoid these). But, the majority of the emails are students trying to gain extra points after missing an assignment. Some students even create fake screenshots to show us the “problem.” Please don’t be this student.

Lying to gain points for incomplete work is academic dishonesty according to the University Honor Code. We work closely with your instructors to check every student credit claim against our tracking logs. We report our findings to your instructor so they will know when students have lied. We are able to check screenshots against server logs, program fonts, program features, and colors.
We welcome emails about real issues and encourage students to think about the potential consequences of emailing us about fake issues.
