Why Materials Sent May Not Post as Received

Body

The application materials that I submitted are not posting as received. What can I do?

If the application materials that you have already submitted are not posting as received after waiting 10 days from the date we should have received them to allow for processing time, please review the following tips:

  • Application: Verify with the Common Application that your application was successfully submitted to U-M. You must complete the U-M Questions in addition to the Common Application in order to successfully submit your application to U-M.
  • Transcripts: Transcripts will not be marked received unless we receive an official copy sent directly from the issuing institution to our office. In addition, documents not issued originally in English must be accompanied by an official English translation. We are not able to consider a faxed transcript as official, nor are we able to consider a transcript sent in an email by the applicant as official.
  • Recommendations: Contact your recommenders and verify that they have submitted their letters to our office. For the Common Application, there is a difference between inviting a recommender and assigning one. Inviting involves entering the recommender's name and email address. To assign, you must select the "assign" button at the bottom of the Assign Recommenders page. This assignment must be done before teachers and other recommenders can see a student on their list.
  • Test Scores (SAT or ACT): Verify that the name you used when taking the test matches the name that you used on your application and that your scores were sent to UM-Ann Arbor (SAT code 1839; ACT code 2062) and not to UM-Flint or UM-Dearborn. Please contact the testing agencies directly for SAT or ACT questions.

If you have verified all of the information above and your materials are still not posting, then please Report Applications Materials Not Posting via our service catalog, and in the title field type in: Application Materials Not Posting.

Include the following information:

  • Your full name as listed on your application. If you used another name when taking tests, include that name as well.
  • U-M ID
  • The materials you have previously submitted that aren't yet posting (please be specific)
  • Name of the individual that sent the materials, their title, and their phone number
  • Date that the materials were sent to our office
  • Delivery method that was used to submit the material(s)
